Gregory Talas ,the art director and owner of the gallery ,is an award winning photographer, painter and produser.
Born in Vilnius Lithuania, after the WWII, Gregory Talas, at the age of 16, started wokring professinally as a photographer, printer, colour separator for a large publishing company.
At the age of 18, he showed great interest in jazz and continued to work as a recording and club musician with several well known jazz groups. In the seventies, Gregory became the head of the photo department at the Design centre of Lithuania, and seven years later started a photo design studio, which he successfully ran until 1989. He moved to Canada in the early 1990.
Throughout his career, Gregory was involved in contract work with different industrial companies, as well as cultural and publishing houses. He designed and produced art and trade shows in Great Britain, Czech Republic, Germany,Italy, Finland,Canada, Lithuania and Russia. He also served as a correspondent for the 'Evening News' newspaper as well as 'Student Meridian' and 'Sobesednik' magazines.
In Canada, Gregory's work has been published in 'Toronto Sun', 'Toronto Star' and 'NOW' magazines, and local magazines published his work and articles about photography and design.
Since 1997 Gregory has been an owner of Kodiak Gallery, an art gallery , photo studio and custom framing shop located in Richmond Hill, Ontario were he is showing his photography,paintings, having photography workshops and curating works of art from artists in many different mediums. Among the major clients : TD Canada Trust, Grater Toronto Airport Authority, Air Canada center, HELLENIC retairement residencies, Design Nexus interiors< He/DIV>
